Ben’s career has been built on a genuine love of snowboarding - as an all-round snowboarder not just a competitor.

From a young age, he was immersed in the culture of snowboarding, spending time not only racing but riding in all conditions. His time on snow is less about results and more about refining technique movements developing his signature personal style.

As a teenager, he was already competing at a high level internationally, winning his first major medal at the X Games in 2016 and claiming his first World Cup podium a year later at 17 in New Zealand, before returning to school the following week.

That balance between elite sport and everyday life continued through school and university, and now into full-time work alongside training and international competition.

Today, that long-term commitment to both the craft and the culture of snowboarding underpins his current form. Ben consistently performs at the highest level, combining experience, adaptability, and the ability to deliver under pressure across multiple disciplines.

This progression has been reflected in an all-time standout run between the 2022–2025 seasons, during which Ben recorded 31 World Cup podiums from 34 starts β€” a 91% podium rate, culminating in his performances at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Games.

β€œWhen you’re at the top of the mountain, it’s like a blank canvas. You can ski that mountain however you want, find the perfect line for you. And, then the next person goes and they see that line so differently again. They interpret it so differently.

How the Sport Works

Para snowboard is built around three key levels of competition:

  • Paralympic Games – The highest level, held every four years

  • World Championships – Standalone event (every two years)

  • World Cup/Crystal Globe – Season-long series of events (Athlete ranked #1, awarded Crystal Globe)

World Cup races build consistency where Crystal Globes are rewarded to the best athlete of the season each year. World Championships and Paralympics determine the best athlete on the day.
