Ben Tudhope is one of Australia’s most accomplished winter Para athletes and a globally recognised force in para snowboard. Born with cerebral palsy β€” which causes hemiplegia on his left side β€” Ben’s parents were told he might not walk or talk. He began skiing at age three and took up snowboarding at eight, introduced to the sport by his sister Annabel, a snowboard competitor.

He made his Paralympic debut at just 14 years old in Sochi 2014, becoming the world’s youngest Winter Paralympian in history, a record Ben still holds today. He finished 10th from 33 riders in the snowboard cross and was selected as Australia’s flag bearer for the Closing Ceremony, making him the youngest flag bearer in Summer or Winter Paralympic history.

Since Sochi, he has competed at four Paralympic Games, winning three medals and establishing himself as a leading athlete across both snowboard cross and banked slalom disciplines.
